PLN 20

Today I read an article from "ESPN" about Stephan Marbury being fined $195,000 for missing a game last Tuesday. Marbury got mad after coach Isaiah Thomas told him he would receive less playing time. He decided not to go to the game versus the Suns and was fined $195,000. When asked about his starting position he said, "Isaiah has to start me, I've go so much [stuff] on Isiah and he knows it. He thinks he can [get] me. But I'll [get] him first. You have no idea what I know." Thomas wasn't too worried about Marbury’s behavior. He has been known to be hot headed and Thomas said as long as he continues to do what he is asked, he will play.

I think this is a very interesting article. It shows how some players think they are so good that when they get upset, they let their whole team down. As I said in a previous article, there has to be better role models for kids. Michael Jordan was a man of great character, he was one to look up to. People like Marbury should not be idolized. Their behavior shows they think they are pretty hot stuff and that is not what kids should think is cool. If a kid sees players acting like this, they will think it is ok to be conceded and it is most certainly not. This article relates to me in just this way. I look up to a lot of athletes and when they act inappropriately, I think about if it was justified or not. One of my favorite players on the Broncos is Brandon Marshall. He got arrested for driving intoxicated and that was his mistake. He was wrong to do that but I think that is a forgivable mistake. At least he didn't get angry and let his whole team down by skipping a game. This idea also relates to the world. I think maybe we should try to only televise when players do something good, not when they act like complete fools.

Sean, you did really well on your presentation. Try talking a little louder, it was hard to hear you at times. Don't start out your sentences with "And" so much, but other than these minor problems, your were great. Keep it up!

Sean! I totally agree with you that people on sports teams shouldn't just skip games because they don't get their way. I also agree with you that there shouldn't be so much violence in colleges great job!

Sean,
Hmmmm...I'm guessing you enjoy basketball, are you playing for Arapahoe? Anyway, I agree that sports players should be more of an example because they have such a
big influence.
I'm suprised that Colorado is the most fit! Yeah, I agree, we should be more fit.
Why were the football players stabbed and shot?
Good Job!
(but where is your question?)
